Perhaps the most distinguishing aspect of our work is our understanding of materials, both in the fabrication and in our finishes.

Our designs are informed by Joe Ginsberg's background as a painter and sculptor. He has earned a reputation as a master of materials, from stone to canvas, from oils to compounds, an alchemist who transforms matter into something more precious than the stuff from which it began.

His inventive and knowledgeable approach to aggregate has enabled us to achieve something individual: seamless expanses of marble and limestone, unspoiled by interstices of unsightly grout. Working with advanced techniques for preparation, proportion mixing, and application, we are able to achieve new looks and increased durability. Our proprietary glazes, resins, and lacquers bring lustrous sheen to the underlying material, be it a rare African mahogany, or a tempered steel door. Whether perfecting a centuries-old treatment like fresco, or inventing an entirely new material or application, every finish and fabrication is accomplished under the loving hands and watchful eye of Joe Ginsberg.

-Metal finishes

Unique design, fabrication and specialty finishes in metal have always been a trademark of our company. We work in a wide range of metals including iron, copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, zinc and bronze.

-Cementitious and Plaster finishes

Joe Ginsberg has been developing and experimenting with new cementitious materials and stone treatments for over twenty years. A sculptor in seamless limestone and marble, he translates his medium into architectural applications for walls, floors and other surfaces, all designed to transform spaces with a delicate fusion of art and contemporary functionality. Joe Ginsberg Design has established a vast library of styles, finishes and techniques to incorporate into any environment.

Working in the many techniques of the plaster medium, Joe Ginsberg Design provides endless possibilities from cast forms and vertical applications to complete architectural details. Whether it be the chalkiness of traditional fresco, the high polish of authentic Venetian plaster, exterior marmorino, the waxed sheen of encaustic or a simple flat pigmented plaster, we can provide a traditional finish or one of our own innovative formulations.

-Glass

Various applications have allowed Joe Ginsberg Design to explore the many unique forms and diverse uses of glass such as wall surfaces, mosaics, partitions, accessories, bars, floor inlays, cabinetry inserts and more. Our specialties include casting, dyeing, gilding, etching and sandblasting.

-Wood

Custom wood furniture is crafted to be functional yet distinctive. Our pieces combine the aesthetic allure of natural wood with a peerless level of practicality. Seamless joints and a sculptural quality create a delicate flow that is classic, simple, elegant and unique.

-Resin

Joe Ginsberg Design is skilled in the design, composition and development of resin applications. From cast forms and architectural details to vertical formats, we are accomplished at achieving an original look with this special material. Resin's translucent quality is suitable for applications where privacy is necessary while still allowing light to pass through. Working in either an epoxy or urethane base, this malleable, hardening material can create a luminous atmosphere.
